It serves as a step down from residential inpatient care or as a step up from traditional outpatient services, depending on each individual's needs. PHP includes many of the same therapies and services found in inpatient treatment, such as individual and group counseling, medication management, and dual diagnosis support, but without the need for overnight stays.
Who Is a PHP For?
PHP is ideal for individuals who need more structure than traditional outpatient care but don't require 24/7 supervision. PHP is often recommended as a step down from residential inpatient treatment, especially for clients who are stable enough to return home or to sober living in the evenings but still need daily therapeutic support.
